Mobile welding in Caldwell, Idaho
Caldwell is thirty to thirty-five minutes west, and past the college and downtown it's farm country in every direction. Most of my Caldwell work is in a field, not a driveway.
Working in Caldwell
I come out I-84 to the 10th Avenue or Highway 20/26 exits, and I'm in Caldwell in a bit over half an hour. It's the Canyon County seat, with a rebuilt downtown along Indian Creek and the College of Idaho, but the calls I get are mostly from outside the city limits. Dairies and row-crop operations south toward Lake Lowell, orchards and vineyards on the Sunnyslope, and cattle and hay ground west toward Notus and Parma. That means loader buckets, bale spears, feeders, corral panels, pipe fence, stock trailers and irrigation pipe. In town, it's the same gates, railings and trailers as anywhere, on older houses that have earned a repair.

Welding repair in Caldwell
Gates, trailers, railings and equipment, fixed where they sit and reinforced so they don't break in the same place again. Here's what I can and can't repair.
Custom fabrication in Caldwell
Gates, railings, brackets and frames built to your measurements, delivered and installed. Here's how a fabrication job goes.
What Caldwell calls about most
Farm equipment. Buckets, cutting edges, spear mounts, hitches, implement frames and feeder panels, welded in the yard or at the field edge. In July, it's whatever stopped the hay.
Wheel line and hand line. Aluminum irrigation pipe cracks at the couplers and the risers. I weld it with the spool gun in the field, in season.
Stock and flatbed trailers. Tongues, floors, gates and hinges, fixed where the trailer's parked.
Pipe gates and panels. Bent by livestock, torn off the post, hinge lugs gone. I carry pipe on the truck for this.
Dairies and hay ground
Dairy work is gates, panels, feeder frames, alley guards and the skid steer bucket that scrapes the lanes twice a day. Hay ground is balers, rakes, spear mounts and the flatbed that hauls it. Both run on a clock, and both break the thing that matters most at the worst time. I keep steel, pipe and plate on the truck so most of these are one visit. Tell me what it is when you call and I'll bring the right stock.
Getting the truck to the job
Field edges and farmyards are fine. A wet field in April is not. Park the equipment where a two-wheel-drive truck can get next to it, drop the implement and pull the key. I carry a fire bucket, but in August with dry stubble I'd rather weld on the gravel.
